Poured-in-Place Surfacing
Poured-in-place rubber surfacing is a two-layer system that creates a permanent, resilient safety surface. The process begins with an attenuation base layer, made from recycled rubber buffings. This material provides the critical shock-absorption needed for fall protection. The foundational layer is then covered with a wearing course of colored ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber granules bound together with polyurethane adhesive.
Loose Rubber Mulch
Rubber mulch offers safety on the playground, especially compared to traditional wood chips. Many schools choose rubber mulch for their playground because it is long-lasting and provides unmatched shock absorbency. Rubber mulch is a landscaping or recreational material made from recycled rubber — usually tires. It can be safer for playful kids than other traditional playground surfacing materials, such as wood chips or sand, especially when it comes to protecting them from falls.
Bonded Rubber Mulch
